Manhattan Life Insurance Company is a privately held insurance company founded in 1850, making it one of the oldest life insurance companies in the United States.

They offer a variety of insurance and annuity products for individuals and families, including short-term care policies providing benefits for all types of extended care, like in-home care, assisted living, and nursing homes.

The company offers limited benefit plans, not traditional Long-Term Care Insurance. However, these policies can be very valuable as a solution for extended care needs, especially for those with certain pre-existing health issues that make it harder to obtain traditional or hybrid Long-Term Care Insurance.

These policies can also be added to an existing older Long-Term Care policy to provide additional benefits at a low cost.

Shopping for Long-Term Care Insurance?

Underwriting

Long-Term Care Insurance is medically underwritten, and every company has underwriting rules that determine insurability and rate class.

Underwriting for short-term cash indemnity products is much less conservative than traditional Long-Term Care Insurance; however, there is underwriting, and some pre-existing health issues may make you ineligible for coverage.

An experienced Long-Term Care Insurance specialist will understand these underwriting rules when helping you select the best company and policy options.

What is Underwriting? How Does Current Health Impact Ability to Obtain Long-Term Care Insurance?

Be sure to seek the assistance of a qualified Long-Term Care Specialist to compare each policy's features, benefits, and costs. You can find a trusted and qualified specialist representing the major insurance companies that offer these products - Work With a Specialist | LTC News.

Please note: Since every company has different underwriting rules, you could be eligible for coverage with one company and not another.

State variations for these products may apply.
